Synopsis: In this third book in the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they're plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army. Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl imprisoned on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she's just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

In this thrilling third installment of the Lunar Chronicles, Cinder and her crew take us on an enchanting and exhilarating adventure. Following the events of Scarlet, Cinder and the gang are in the search for Cress, the imprisoned hacker aboard a satellite who makes up the third part of their crew. With Cinder and Scarlet being incredible books in the Lunar Chronicles, I was not expecting these books to just keep getting better and better. However, Marissa Meyer did not disappoint with this book. It was full of life, love, and laughter, and I could not help but continue to fall so effortlessly in love with this story.

Marissa Meyer has a writing style that is able to transport (more like completely drag you)you from the real world to this extraordinary sci-fi world. Cress was filled to the brim with action sequences and life or death situations - I honestly thought I was the one experiencing all that trauma. The new characters were very interesting and added a new dynamic to the story. Cress is someone of a shy persona, but is incredibly kind hearted and upbeat. She has a very vivid imagination, which allows her to escape to far off places in times of distress, enabling her to pretend to fit the role of a cowgirl, a doctor, a movie star, and so forth. Her relationship with Thorne - swoon.

There's pretty much nothing else I can say without revealing major details, but I can tell you that if you have not started the Lunar Chronicles yet you're missing out on a damn great series. I was awake at 3 in the morning reading when I had to get up at 6 the next morning, but who cares - if you got a good book then don't put it down, and that's exactly what I did. The Lunar Chronicles makes me feel like a child again; imagining fairytale situations brought to life and looking forward to finding the one thing that brings me the most happiness. I don't think I'll ever really be able to convey how much I adore these books, but if I ever get the chance I'll write it down immediately for all of you. For now, just take that five star rating extremely seriously. I recommend you read Cinder and I recommend you read it now!

  4. YAY! I'm excited that you and I pretty much felt the same way about this one. I loved it even more than Scarlet and Cinder too! I think that's why I haven't cracked open my copy of Winter yet - I'm scared it'll destroy me and then it'll be over *cries* Anyways, awesome review and LOVE THORNE ♥
