Synopsis: If you could steal things from your dreams, what would you take?

Ronan Lynch has secrets. Some he keeps from others. Some he keeps from himself.

One secret: Ronan can bring things out of his dreams. And sometimes he's not the only one who wants those things.

Ronan is one of the raven boys - a group of friends, practically brothers, searching for a dead king named Glendower, who they think is hidden somewhere in the hills by their elite private school, Aglionby Academy. The path to Glendower has long lived as an undercurrent beneath town. But now, like Ronan's secrets, it is beginning to rise to the surface - changing everything in its wake.

Maggie Stiefvater really outdid herself in this sequel to The Raven Boys. This book was so lush full of details and the storyline was beyond what was given to us in the first book. When continuing on this adventure of running with the Welsh kings, Maggie really knows how to bring you along for the ride. I've read handfuls of books where the plot involves the idea of a crazy adventure, and while it may seem fun, it wasn't enough to make me feel as if I was there for the journey. With The Dream Thieves, this mystical world was expanded even more and the intricate details were really used to her advantage by allowing her to take her readers on an all expense paid trip to magical forests and underground caves.

The one thing that I absolutely loved about this book was the character development. This gang of friends continues to impress me with their ability to solve what should be impossible. Throughout this book, you could really see the friendships grow stronger and the bonds become unbreakable. Although some fallouts were inevitable with these different personalities, it was strangely beautiful to see them come together and stick together. I also really grew to love the secondary characters, such as Blue's family. They were vitally important to the progression of the plot and I thought it was done in a great job. As a side note, I'd also like to add that Blue and Gansey are A+ I adore them with all of my heart. It's their innocent, developing relationship that reminds me of when I would have silly crushes on boys back in middle school. This romance (can I even call it that?) is so subtle and such a light focus of the plot line, that you sometimes forget that this series is based off a deadly first love, which is why I love it so much.

Of course I cannot say much because this is a sequel, but I can guarantee that the writing and plot was amped up so much in this book. This was the kind of book where I could not stop reading, even when I dreaded what was coming next. I found myself awake at 3 in the morning still flipping pages and even when I stopped I was still speculating. The Dream Thieves, and even The Raven Boys, is a book that makes you think until the early hours of the morning and one that leaves goosebumps on your legs in the middle of the night. I have nothing but praise for this book.
