I've been watching this meme float around a lot, so I've finally decided to join in the fun! This meme was created by The Broke and the Bookish. Every Tuesday there is a new list that involves all things books!
top ten six characters I love, but others hate
- Maven Calore - Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
guys, I still can't wrap my head around he idea that Maven did you know what, you know when. I'm still so invested in the way he was before, man - my little buttercup
- Rowan Whitethorn -Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
I don't think people hate Rowan, but we all know there's a tension between Chaol/Celaena and Rowan/Celaena shippers, so yeah - I guess I technically love a character some people "hate".
- The Darkling - The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo
Ah, my poor misinterpreted, dark, brooding villain; my heart loves thee.
- Bellatrix - Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
Bellatrix was a force of nature and crazy as heck, but I thought her character was so interesting and intriguing, that I never really had a problem with her.
- Joseph Kavinsky - The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
ok, I don't love Kavinsky. in fact, I kinda only tolerated him and I'm pretty sure I threatened to shove my hand down his scheming lil throat a multitude of times. but hey, the dude maybe deserved a better ending than what he got (I just know a lot of people dislike him)
- Gabriel Lightwood - The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
do people even hate Gabriel, I don't know, but I love him. I thought the banter between him and Will was genius and I even began to respect as a character towards the end of the trilogy.
I actually feel the same about Maven (why I didn't include him this week I have no idea). I just can't believe what he done! Oh, and Bellatrix will always hold a special place in my heart, she's completely psychotic but I love her.

I liked the Darkling too (hehe), I feel like I should join in on this weekly book meme too!

I love the Darkling! My poor, lonely but powerful, burdened with eternity boy<33 And Bellatrix evil-ness is what makes me really love her! That's how a villain should act! I must admit, I tend to fall for the villains!
ReplyDeleteTasya // The Literary Huntress
HELL YEAH, FELLOW MAVEN FAN! I adored him and his brother equally in Glass Sword, and am slightly okay with what happened at the end.The Darkling and Rowan are also my little children and I'll love them for the rest of my life :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh I still haven't read Glass Sword!! :(
DeleteYES. THE DARKLING. I absolutely love him. To qoute Taylor Swift, "he's so bad but he does it so well." I just can't help it. I mean, he's the villian but he's like so real and broken and just AHH? <3
ReplyDelete~Cari @ My Addiction: Books
a beautiful boy :((
DeleteI feel the same way about the Darkling. I was really hoping through the second half of the book that it would turn out to be a huge mistake, or maybe he'd be redeemed, but that seems to be a fading light. :(
ReplyDeleteMaven was a huge shock. I had no idea that what happened would happen and seriously, dude, wtf?

I've heard tons of people tell me that they knew what Maven was gonna do, but I was so blindsided!!
DeleteI feel like Maven was so adorable because his mother knew exactly what to say for him to worm his way into Mare's heart?
ReplyDeleteAnd I ship Rowaelin too! Why? Well it's actually ridiculously hard to ship a non-canon ship with ACTUAL reason (other than just being like, "But they had chemistry!"), but I know some REALLY dedicated people that ship DorianxCelaena or Chaolena that have come up with justified and convincing 20-page theories that could rival a doctorate thesis. They halfway convinced ME!
